Facebook has managed to acquire another big company with Ready At Dawn Studios, creators of Lone Echo.
This comes at a surprising time as we’ve seen the economy in a shuffle but Ready At Dawn comes with a vast index of games and experience.
“Ready At Dawn is a veteran game developer, having shipped games to multiple platforms in the past, and a VR pioneer,” said Facebook in their press release.
“They’ve created four games for the Oculus platform since 2017, including Lone Echo, Echo Arena, Echo Combat, and Lone Echo II (currently in development), all of which feature Ready At Dawn’s signature zero-g continuous locomotion system and full-body IK (inverse kinematics). With Facebook’s latest advancements in VR technology, Ready At Dawn can readily explore a future of rich and immersive original VR content. “
Currently, the studio is working on Lone Echo II and will be launching on the Oculus platform. The studio will also work on future titles for the virtual reality platform in the coming years.
We will probably continue to see Facebook acquire more studios in the coming years to dominate the VR market.
